Tummy Tuck or Liposuction

What is best for me – Tummy Tuck or Liposuction?

Liposuction removes excess fat stored in areas like your buttocks, stomach, love handles, hips, thighs, calves, breasts, ankles, arms, back, and neck. Liposuction is an effective long term fix for losing weight and improving your looks but future weight gain, aging, pregnancy and other factors may affect the longevity of the surgery.
Tummy Tucks or abdominoplasty are used to tighten loose skin, fix weak or separated abdominal muscles, and out of proportioned abdomens. Sometimes tummy tucks and liposuction is both needed to fix up your figure. The surgical procedure consists of the surgeon removing the skin covering your abdomen and then stretching it downward, cutting off the excess at the bottom. If there’s any loose muscles the surgeon will stretch them out and secure with sutures.
Deciding on the best procedure for you depends on the recommendation of the plastic surgeon; this isn’t something for yourself to decide. Make an appointment with a qualified surgeon to discuss the options available for you and the risks, and cost of these procedures.
Cost of these procedures will vary and aren’t covered by your insurance companies since they’re cosmetic in nature.
There any risks associated with any surgery and these will be discussed with you with your surgeon. Both operations will result in soreness and bruising, your recovery may take 1-3 weeks depending on the amount of work done. The incisions will leave a temporary mark but will fade over time.
So there’s no clear cut answer to what’s best for you. The best procedure depends on your body conditions and may it well need both procedures to correct your conditions, so consult an experienced plastic surgeon for the best solution.
